It's the last week-end of the February vacation. It's been a good couple weeks spent at home. Many Parisians go skiing in the Alps this time of year. (I know that it isn't a big trip from Paris, but that still seems so posh to me.) The return to the routine will be rough.
Aren't these cakes great! They are from Bogato (the phonetic of beau gateau "beautiful cake"). If you are looking for something that resembles children's cakes like we have in the States, this is your place. See more photos of their shop here. They will be serving cupcakes for the pop up shop Chanel and Colette are putting up this week-end. There will also be music, artists painting handbags and a nail bar so bring someone who can feed you the cupcakes while you get your nails done.
The Césars (France's version of the Oscars) take place tonight at 9pm. Jodie Foster (who happened to have coffee at my corner café yesterday) is an honorary guest as well as Quentin Tarantino. Jodie Foster's French is just incredible.
Saturday I'm going on a date with my husband for some much needed grown-up time. This should include some good food and/or a movie. Anyone see the latest Clint Eastwood?
Then we're taking the kids to the Salon d'Agriculture for lots of meuh, meuh and miam, miam.
And the Oscars are this Sunday-Mondayish for those in Paris. This is the one time when the time difference just sucks. Anyone getting up at 4am to watch the red carpet? Friends of mine used to throw an Oscar party every year and everyone would dress up to watch the show while sipping champagne and playing games like this. Miss that. I am definitely not getting up at 4am, however!
